Clean up your build!
Yesterday I cleaned up my workstation. To be more exact I deleted packages I don’t need.
My Artix build is now about 1/2 of a year old. Which for me is a pretty long, since I distro hopped the whole last year. So this “issue” is new to me. I always knew that I had many packages installed that I don’t need anymore. But I didn’t expect that much. I had for example 5 XMPP messengers: Gajim, Pidgin, Mcabber, Profanity and Bitlbee.
All in all I deleted 50% of my packages. I went from 1800 to 900 packages.
If you want an list of all packages you’ve installed you can do following command. There is probably a better way of doing this but this works just fine :).
pacman -Qe | cut -f1 -d' ' > packages
